There is something undeniably beautiful about a well-crafted timber frame home. There is honesty and openness in the exposed structure, it does not hide its flaws behind drywall. It stands proudly in the foreground, showcasing the natural beauty of the wood and celebrating the high level of craftsmanship that went into every one of its joints.
This home just outside of Golden, BC was a joy to work on, thanks to its incredible owners. They had been planning their dream home for quite some time, and they chose a beautiful property to place what will be the future gathering place for family and friends. A true hidden gem in the woods.
The owners visits to the site during the building process was always positive and collaborative, we always felt like we were both on the same team which is the key to any successful custom home build. It’s always amazing to see the reactions along the way as the dream becomes a reality. We want to thank the owners for choosing us to make this happen and commend their impeccable taste in their materials choices and finishings.
The perfect balance of tradition and modern tastes in our opinion! The place came together beautifully and we are incredibly proud of this one.
TIMBERS THAT WILL GIVE YOU SHIVERS
We are lucky to have a timelapse video recorded of the walls and timbers being put up during the fall of 2019. As you can see, the crew worked in essentially all weather conditions to make it happen. From there, it was time to build the rest of the home with the amazing timbers from Hubert Haus Timberframes. The finished home clearly celebrates the beauty of a timberframe
We mentioned the great tastes of the owners who chose some really incredible features to bring into their living spaces. The rock fireplace was done by Andy Bostock and it draws the eye as soon as you walk in, and then your eyes travel all the way up to the top of the cathedral timber ceilings.
A SUPERIOR EXTERIOR
You can’t find a bad angle on this house. From the stunning entranceway to the spacious deck and double car garage, there is plenty of outdoor space to play and grow.
SHOW STOPPING SHOW PIECES
The staircase connecting the two floors are tastefully lit, giving it that modern edge. The bathroom as well is quite impressive, with its large format tiles and cast iron soaker tub.
It takes some great people to make this happen, and we are very proud of our crew members who put their hearts, souls and backs behind this project. Blake, Robson and Ryan in particular.
We would also love to acknowledge the amazing local trades and other service providers involved in this home.
This includes HubertHaus Timberframes, Lignum Designs, Golden Electrical, Steve’s Kitchen and Bath, Ryter Construction, Alpine painting and Andy Bostock Rocks.
